An Exciting Announcement

An Exciting Announcement

It was four years ago, almost to the day, that I launched Postcard from Monadnock after exiting the innkeeping business. Not long after, I took up another writing assignment as a bi-weekly columnist for our regional newspaper, The Monadnock Ledger-Transcript. Between those two endeavors, I have had the pleasure of writing regularly about life from beside a pond, protected by forest, in a small New England town. You have been there for the ride.

We have assembled a collection of those essays—many from the newspaper column—in a book titled, Calmly on the Waters, which is scheduled for launch one month from today, June 9th, through Peterborough-based, Bauhan Publishing. It is ready for pre-order on Amazon, and my website (JarvisCoffin.com), with free shipping for through June 9th, to you and other subscribers, for $22.

Inside are thirty-eight essays organized seasonally, polished with the help of editor Erik Klass, and illustrated (really, such nice work) with engravings from Nora S. Unwin, courtesy of Peterborough's Monadnock Center for History and Culture, and thanks to designer Henry James at Bauhan Publishing.

Read in the morning with a first look out the window. Read at night, before the light goes out. Calmly on the Waters is about your steady companionship over the years.

Thank you, very much, for being here.
