Growing Tucker
Looking back, Matthew says it was too much responsibility to put on the boy at the time.
Growing Tucker was completed in December, 2o23. It came together quickly, and was accepted for publication in the February 2024 issue of Down in the Dirt Magazine. Not the prettiest website, or most appealing name, but Down in the Dirt is well-established and--bless their hearts--creates space for many first-time and emerging writers.
There is so much more to say about the experience my wife and I had as innkeepers and restauranteurs. And it was the kitchen where so much of the love and heartbreak was created. I can't wait to write more.
